The Jefferson Public Library will be hosting the Rural Renewal Program Series with Ali Merk of Jackson County Farm Bureau at 1 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of February, March and April.
On Feb. 23, the topic will be Buy Local: Learn about the impact that buying local has on the community and the difference in quality buying local has on products. Also, learn about sources for locally grown food.
The March 22 program will feature Home Gardening. Beginning and advanced gardeners can learn about methods, seed stock and area resources for gardening supplies. The program will also spotlight on the introduction of edible plants into decorative gardens and traditional vegetable and fruit gardens.
Agritourism is the topic for the April 26 program. Learn how to plan day trips or even vacations around Georgia’s rich agricultural landscape.
