A new CASA training class will get under way in Jackson County on March 13 with classes each Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. through April 24, and one Saturday class conducted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A CASA VOLUNTEER?
Piedmont CASA volunteers serve as the eyes and ears of the court. You get to know the child and meet with all the important people in their life. You gather information. You make written recommendations to the Juvenile Court Judge about what is in the child’s best interests. You focus on the child and on helping them to a safe and permanent home until the case is closed.
