Head Coach Bo Adams of the Mill Creek High School lacrosse team takes part in a Q&A session in regards to the up and coming lacrosse season.

Q: Can you give me some back information on your team?

A: We have ten seniors coming back and a big group of sophomores. We are looking forward to this year because every year is getting better. We had a great summer and fall league.

Q: Who are some of the key players you lost from last year and who are some of the key players returning?

A: One of them was Patrick Finnell. He was our face-off guy. He really did a great job and we will miss him a lot. Alex [Schneider], who is returning, has been our goalie for three years and he has done a phenomenal job. He was All-County last year. Will Peek is a great kid and is a leader on the team. Brandon Scott, along with Alex and Will are our elected captains this year. One of our other players that made All-County last year is Nick Kozlowski. He is going to Mercer [University]. He was the leading scorer for our team last year. He is an awesome player. Trent Walker really worked hard and if a great defensive player.

Q: You have a couple of non-conference and out of state games. Are these teams that are powerhouses in the sport?

A: It will be exciting to play someone else than our usual teams. We actually played Alpharetta [High School] in the first round of the playoffs last year and they beat us. This will be the first time we’ve played them in two years. Cobb County schools have been playing lacrosse for about ten years so they have really good teams. It will be nice to get out of the county and play some teams with better quality. It will give us a test and see what we can do.

The Hawks will return to action on Feb. 18 and will host Walton High School at 5:55 p.m.
