The Georgia Department of Transportation announces maintenance plans for this week on Interstate 85 and in Jackson, Barrow, Gwinnett and Hall counties.
Most activities will only require shoulder or median lane closures. This is a tentative schedule; if emergency response is needed at a crash scene or if emergency repairs are necessary this schedule will change.
Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday, if weather permits.
Crews will inspect drainage pipes along and under Interstate 85 in Banks and Jackson counties.
There will also be a crew trimming vegetation on Highway 334 and Highway 326 in Jackson County.
In Barrow County, crews will be crack sealing on Highway 211, and the work will require a flagger directing traffic through the work zone.
In Hall County, crews will be cleaning and repairing the ditches and trimming brush along Highway 53 and Highway 323 and mowing the slopes along Highway 52.
Crews in Gwinnett County will be hand sweeping on Highway 8 and Highway 124, with the work requiring a lane closure as crews work. Another crew will be picking up trash along Highway 141 and Highway 13 while guardrail damage will be repaired on Highway 316.
