The Mill Creek girls’ basketball team outscored Duluth 22-6 in the first quarter to run away with a 58-33 win over the Lady Wildcats Saturday in the Region 7-AAAAA consolation finals.
The win secures a No. 3 seed for Mill Creek in the 5-A state playoffs, which begin Friday.
Sophomore Jasmine Carter scored 16 points to lead the Lady Hawks. Tamarr Williams added 13 points, while Nadiya Miller finished with nine. Mill Creek out-rebounded Duluth 40-25 in the win.
